drylin SLW-1040-10X25-E7-AL linear module for dry cleanrooms

어플리케이션
Precision linear technology for dry cleanrooms

The drylin SLW linear guide for cleanroom applications sets new standards in precision and low particle emission. The SLW-1040 series combines lightweight, rigid aluminium components with a high-performance dryspin 10×25 fine-pitch lead screw and low-friction iglidur E7 plain bearings – ideal for clean and dry environments with high demands on cleanliness and wear resistance.

▲ Tech up:
Design for minimal particle emission: aluminium crossbars, rails and slides – optimised for cleanroom environments

▼ Cost down:
No maintenance required as external lubrication is not needed

■ Proof:
Under test conditions of 22 °C ± 2 °C, it achieved the best possible result of ISO Class 4 in an ISO 3 test environment, even with varying spindle speeds (50/80/100 rpm)

● Sustainability:
No risk of contamination from greases or oils

Tested in accordance with ISO 14644-1 – best possible classification: ISO Class 4

With the SLW-1040-10X25-E7-AL linear guide, igus presents a solution that has been specifically developed for use in dry cleanrooms. The axis was measured by Fraunhofer IPA, the leading testing institute for cleanroom technology, in an ISO 3 test environment and achieved the best possible result of ISO Class 4 in accordance with ISO 14644-1 – and this with a dryspin steep-pitch thread DS10x25 at a feed rate of up to 40 mm/s. This makes it suitable for highly sensitive production and testing processes where low particle emission and process stability are essential.

The design utilises aluminium crossbeams, linear guides and carriages, combined with a dryspin 10×25 high-lead screw and iglidur E7 plain bearings. These components are designed for particularly low particle emission. As the system operates entirely dry, lubricants are completely eliminated as a potential source of contamination.

Why dry cleanrooms have special requirements
Dry cleanrooms are characterised by significantly reduced air humidity to prevent moisture ingress, condensation or water-borne particle processes. This is crucial for applications such as:
  • Electronics assembly and semiconductor manufacturing
  • Optical production and laser technology
  • Precision measurement and microanalysis technology
  • Battery manufacturing and dry test environments
In such environments, particularly stringent requirements apply: no mechanical movement must generate any particles that could compromise sensitive structures, sensors or surfaces. Lubricants can dry out, out-gas or act as particle carriers – which is why dry-running mechanisms such as the SLW-1040 are essential. Through the use of special tribopolymer plain bearings, dry thread technology and a smooth, low-particle aluminium construction, the SLW-1040 ensures long-term cleanroom suitability, even with higher motion profiles.
